Yamada Shokai HD participates in the newly established "EV Battery Smart Use Council

2024.10.09 Events

(Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Toyohisa Yamada) has joined the "EV Battery Smart Use Council" established by the Japan Research Institute, together with academics, ministries, and local governments under the auspices of the Japan Research Institute. Minebea Senior Managing Director Hiroyuki Suzuki attended the announcement of the council's establishment.

The main objective of the CIPP is to achieve a circular economy for EV batteries and to promote the reuse of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles (EVs). This includes developing ways to utilize used EV batteries in other products, as well as technologies and provisions to support the long-term use of EVs. Industry, government, and academia will work together to actively promote initiatives that will lead to the development of new markets.

The domestic market for EV battery circular economy is expected to grow to 600 billion yen in 2030 and 8 trillion yen in 2050, and it is hoped that the efforts of this council will contribute to the promotion of sustainable energy use.

As a company that supports social infrastructure, MHI is actively involved in the introduction and diffusion of sustainable technologies. (Head office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative: Hiroyuki Suzuki), a group company that handles EV filling machines, has also shown increasing interest in the circular economy of EV batteries and endorsed the purpose of this council.

Yamada Shokai Holding, together with its group companies, will continue to build a sustainable social infrastructure.
