Yamada Shokai HD and Meisters Grit begin joint research on antimicrobial technology

2025.10.21 collaborative research

(Head office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; Representative: Toyohisa Yamada), which handles everything from the development of coating equipment and paints to painting.Meister's Grit, Inc.(Head office: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Kotaro Sasai) have started a joint research project to verify the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents applied to coating technology.

Meister's Grit is a start-up type of factory that promotes technological development, environmental responsiveness, and business expansion beyond the boundaries of a conventional "paint shop" under the slogan of "a paint shop that continues to take on challenges. The company's strength lies in its decorative processing technology that combines design and functionality (durability, corrosion resistance, etc.), and it possesses coating technology that emphasizes uniformity and high added value for a wide variety of materials and shapes, including glass, plastic, metal, rubber, leather, and utensils. In addition, the company designs and manufactures equipment to support the coating process, works on systems designed to reduce environmental impact (exhaust air treatment, mist collection equipment, wastewater treatment, and plant configuration), and develops coating equipment that can handle small-lot, high-mix production, which is one of its features.

Yamada Shokai HD aims to realize a community where people can live more comfortably and prosperously by updating energy and other living infrastructures in their increasingly diverse lifestyles.Currently, we have positioned "energy," "infrastructure and maintenance," "agriculture, forestry, and fisheries," and "housing and environment" as our four priority development fields, and are promoting technological and business development together with researchers, venture companies, and various partner companies.

In this joint research, the antimicrobial agent developed by Meisters Grit based on its coating technology will be used to verify its effectiveness in inhibiting the generation of mold in indoor spaces.
This antimicrobial agent is based on a coating technology that enables uniform spraying and long-term maintenance of paints that are mixed and agitated with solvents and catalysts, etc. The stability and adhesiveness of the antimicrobial component are enhanced by bonding nano-level silver components with silica (SiO₂ and other inorganic components). Already recognized for its inhibitory effect against E. coli and influenza viruses, the product has excellent deodorizing, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, and has been certified by SIAA (Society for Industrial Application of Antimicrobial Articles of Association), which meets standards for quality control and safety as an antimicrobial product.

In the "living environment," a key area of development for Yamada Shokai HD, we aim to provide safe and secure living spaces by establishing technology to inhibit the generation of mold in indoor spaces, centered on this antimicrobial agent.

In addition, we will engage in joint research and business development with a view to expanding into many other fields in the future, including indoor facilities such as stores and offices, nursing and welfare facilities, educational and public facilities, housing and renovation, and industry, manufacturing, and logistics.

About ◼︎ Meister's Grit, Inc.
Our management philosophy is "to contribute to solving problems with technology beyond imagination. We aim to be a company that can develop together by providing solutions to problems and new technologies in a variety of fields by actively integrating and developing the technologies of local factories. In particular, since environmental issues are a global need, we are taking on the challenge of solving social issues through deodorization treatment systems and wastewater treatment systems that have been developed from our paint processing technology, as well as paints and antibacterial agents developed from a wide variety of materials.
