(Head Office: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Toyohisa Yamada), a subsidiary of Yamada Shokai Holding Co., Ltd. held the 5th Gifu Tech Plan Grand Prix on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at OKB SCLAMB (OKB Gifu University Plaza 2F, Gifu University) (Organizer: (LEVANES), which aims to contribute to sustainable forestry by providing solutions to reduce the burden of forest maintenance as much as possible through professional evaluation of forest maintenance, disaster risk, and carbon absorption based on its landslide assessment technology and research results, and by utilizing its skills in analyzing geographic information data. The Yamada Shokai Award was presented to OWL Research Institute, Inc.

Based on the skills and expertise in analyzing geological data, forest data, and geographic information data cultivated through research activities, OWL Laboratory, Inc. We are developing technologies that provide maximum value with the minimum necessary elements. These technologies enable simultaneous forest improvement and landslide risk assessment, as well as the development of proprietary technologies that enable quantitative assessment of carbon sequestration using forest inventory data and satellite data. This evaluation technology can be applied to forest management improvement proposals and the J-credit system, and can also be used to clarify specific contributions to decarbonization measures. Furthermore, by making maximum use of open data that is made available free of charge by local and national governments, the cost of data acquisition can be significantly reduced, making it possible for even small-scale organizations to introduce this technology.
